Lucía Garcés Dávila is an Ecuadorian designer, educator, and photographer based in Chicago. She will be speaking about her work and book, Ojo al Aviso, a photographic panorama of visual street communication which presents the art of hand-painted storefront signs of Quito, Ecuador. Through documentary photography, Lucía describes the graphic design, art traditions and life stories of Ecuadorian artists and observes similar elements among Chicago's neighborhoods.
