Paper, Vinyl and Song: Patsy Cline

Join us for our next meeting of the Paper, Vinyl and Song book club as we celebrate the music of Patsy Cline. The program explores recording artists through books and music. A recommended reading list is available, and we will play vintage vinyl. Musicians from the Old Town School of Folk Music will perform selected tunes from the artists. This session we will explore the history and music of Patsy Cline. Patsy was a trailblazer for many country music female artists who followed in her footsteps. She was the first solo female artist inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Lisa DeRosia will perform a selection of Patsy Cline's tunes. Now in her 28th year at the Old Town School, Lisa teaches both group classes and private lessons to children and adults. Her group guitar classes offer a fun and relaxing environment tailored to students’ needs, where adult players of all levels can try new things and explore diverse styles. Among other accomplishments as a singer and guitarist, Lisa’s notable work with her band Lush Budgett was hailed by one reviewer as “as much passion and authenticity as Dolly Parton or Loretta Lynn ever had.
