Calling all Chicago Public Library explorers! If you’re curious to learn more about Chicago Public Library branches across the city and meet fellow Chicagoans, join the Chicago Public Library, Books with Betsy, and Read & Run Chicago for Library Explorers Club, a new monthly program designed for anyone who loves Chicago and is interested in beginning your movement and/or reading journey. What it is: Each month, visit one of the 82 branches of the Chicago Public Library system for an optional run or walk, branch tour, and reading. Who this is for: Anyone interested in learning more about Chicago Public Library branches. You don’t have to identify as a library expert, reader, walker, or runner to participate! This is a non-judgement space for exploration. Here’s how it works: 1:30 PM Optional run or walk with Read & Run Chicago (run: ~12:00 minute per mile pace / walk: ~20:00-25:00 minute per mile pace) 2:00 PM Introduction to the branch – learn fun facts and insider history from a library staff member 2:30 PM Optional library card sign-up and quiet reading in the branch. Light snacks and drinks provided! Come alone, come with friends—all are welcome to join for any portion of the afternoon and in whatever way is best for you.AccessibilityNeed sign language interpretation or other accessibility assistance for this event?
