Teen Reading Discussion: The Poet X

Join the Teen Librarian to explore Elizabeth Acevedo's book The Poet X, a book written in verse about a young Afro-Latina woman in Harlem who uses poetry to express herself and her feelings, despite her strict religious upbringing and the challenges she faces in her community. Teens will have an opportunity to read from the book together, share their impressions and discuss the main themes and questions of the book. Participants are not required to read the book prior to attending the reading group; we will read passages together. For teens ages 13 to 18.
