About this event

Do you want to grow a tree and support our native ecosystems? Come get a sapling or two!  Chicago Conservation Corps Leader Stephanie Colón and Chicago Region Tree Initiative steward Shelby Haley will be distributing saplings of various native tree species. There will also be a Q&A and resource table for more support. Supplies are limited; saplings are first come, first serve.  Stephanie Colón is a Sustainability Leader with the Chicago Conservation Corps at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. A resident of Humboldt Park with a hyperlocal focus on the community, she is passionate about fostering strong relationships in the neighborhood and has completed various conservation projects ranging from waste and beach cleanups to saving on energy costs. The Chicago Region Tree Initiative is the urban forestry hub of The Morton Arboretum. Their mission is to increase the urban tree canopy equitably across Chicago through projects like tree plantings, outreach, and education.AccessibilityNeed sign language interpretation or other accessibility assistance for this event?
